These added support confer additional stability to the bone and increase the speed of healing while reducing the damage done by trauma. This particular instrument can be used to insert, remove and reshape wires and pins as they are needed. Wires can e placed in a variety of surgical settings that require addition of and manipulation of wire. Producedures such as laminectomies require for the vertebrae to be stabilized so that it may heal correctly and reduce trauma to the spine. This twister features tungsten carbide inserts which confer stability as well as serrated jaws which gives them an additional stable grasp on the wire. Additionally this twister has long tips that allow it to fit into some tighter spaces.

Many orthopedic and neurosurgical spinal procedures require the insertion of pins to stabilize a repaired fracture or an inserted graft. These pins often need to be trimmed to allow them to be set at a more appropriate length for the individual patient and these cutter can be used for that. This instrument is double action and is side cutting and has a maximum capacity of 3.2 mm.
