Ives-Fansler Anoscope features a plastic obturator that is inserted into the anus for guidance of the outer hollow tube into the anus. A light can be shown through this tube for clearer viewing. A perpendicular handle makes the instrument more convenient to operate. The speculum is designed to examine the anal canal.
