Cushing Rongeur

Cranial Rongeur is a unique instrument crafted for use in neurosurgical procedures that require access to the brain tissue or other areas associated with it. This instrument can be used to chip away or create a window in the skull to create increased access so the surgical field. These rongeurs feature a 2.0 mm jaw width and are set at a slight angle that allows the handles to remain comfortable out of the surgical field and able to manipulate easily.

This rongeur is solidly build and features curved slightly ribbed handles that increase the grip strength. This instrument can be used to enlarge holes made in bone or to scoop out bony contents to clear the surgical field or to give increased access to the area in question. Additionally this instrument has 7.0 mm wide jaws as well as being available in a curved or straight profile making it well suited for a number of surgical approaches.

Specifically it is designed for use in synovectomies which are procedures in which there is a partial or total remove of the synovial membrane from a joint. These rongeurs feature rounded handles as well as spring action that allows them to be comfortable to grip as well as effective and precise in their handling. Additionally the jaws are 2.0 mm wide making them effective at comfortable gripping and maintaining hold of the synovium and are available either curved or slightly curved to conform to the shape of the tissue without causing damage.
