Hoke Osteotome

5-1/2″ (14.0 cm) Hoke Osteotome is crafted for preparation and cutting of bone during neurosurgery. This instrument features a sturdy handle for ease in handling which then narrows at the neck and widens again into a blade. One potential use of this osteotome is to saw through the skull to increase access during surgery such as craniotomy. Additionally this instrument can be used to reshape bony areas. This osteotome is available in either a curved or straight profile in size sizes ranging from 3.0 mm to 16.0 mm making this a highly versatile instrument suitable for a number of surgical procedures.

This osteotome can be used in many different neurosurgical and orthopedic type surgical interventions that require manipulation of bone. It features a slim handle and a further flattened body that ends in a chisel type point that allows for scooping or scraping of the bone for a variety of reasons including increasing access and visualization to the surgical field. Additionally this osteotome is available in either 4.0 mm width or 6.0 mm width making it suitable for a vast array of surgical procedures.

Mini-Lambotte Osteotome

Osteotome offer significant advantages over drilling because they do not generate heat which can be damaging and also offer an increased level of tactile sensation. This gouge is designed similarly to a chisel but the blade portion features a curvature to it allowing it to be used to scoop up segments. The opposite end of this gouge has a rounded, flat end that can be used with a mallet to increase the driving force to effectively pierce through bone. This gouge is available in three sizes 6.0 mm, 12.0 mm and 18.0 mm making them well suited for larger bones in the spinal surgery and smaller ones for more delicate work on the skull.
