Adson Cranial Rongeur is ideally suited for use in neurosurgical procedures. This instrument features a 8.0 mm wide jaw that makes it suitable for grasping bony tissue or other dense tissue areas such as cartilidge. This rongeur is particularly well suited for procedures such as craniotomies that require increased access to brain tissue through the cranial bone or other cranial procedures. Additionally this ronger is available in three different profiles: straight, curved or rat tooth making it suitable for use in a variety of surgical scenarios and surgeon preferences.

Specifically it is designed for use in synovectomies which are procedures in which there is a partial or total remove of the synovial membrane from a joint. Additionally the jaws are 2.0 mm wide making them effective at comfortable gripping and maintaining hold of the synovium and are available either curved or slightly curved to conform to the shape of the tissue without causing damage.

This instrument is double-action and is slightly curved which allows the jaws to remain in alignment with the bony area it is being used upon while keeping the handle effectively out of the plane of surgery. Also the jaws are slightly scoop shaped which gives this instrument a unique way in which it can cut and reshape bone. It is available in six different jaws widths ranging from 3.0 – 8.0 mm in 1 mm increments making it well suited for any particular procedures or maneuver.
